Mardi Love 4-day Intensive in Amsterdam

Date:
Wednesday, August 04, 2010 at 10:00 AM - to - Saturday, August 07, 2010 at 2:00 PM (GMT+0100)
Location: Studio Focus, Isolatorweg 36
1014 AS Amsterdam, Netherlands
Good news for people who wanted to follow some Mardi Love (USA, the Indigo) workhops but weren't able to take the intensive course. To give everyone a chance to take or try out a workshop with her, Mardi is teaching 3 extra, lower priced workshops in Amsterdam on August 7th and 8th! (There are still some tickets for Mardi's intensive (August 4th-7th) and Rachel Brice's workshop (July 10th) available by the way!)
The Waltz - Saturday - August 7th, 2010 - 14:30 - 17:30
One of the most romantic time signatures, Mardi will introduce movements and combos tailored for a 6/8 beat, [check out an example of 6/8 fusion belly dance beat here]. Using a variety of time signatures and tempos in a show does wonders for setting pieces apart. These movements venture out of that good old 4/4 rhythm.
Assuit and Tie (design and make your costume workshop!!) - Sunday - August 8th, 2010 - 10:30 - 13:30 Mardi has spent some years stitching up little numbers for dancers. This class addresses her approaches and techniques in adornment. We'll discuss some broader subjects such as color, texture, sourcing materials, and inspiration; Mardi will also walk students through the process of producing some costuming elements.
Lil Twofer - Sunday - August 8th, 2010 - 14:30 - 17:30
part A: Separation Anxiety: Isolation Patterns
Goody, a bunch of drills that ask for a little concentration. Enjoy an afternoon of quirky patterns while keeping timely hips on the back burner. Indulge; it's good for you. Belly dance experience or a penchant for patting the head and rubbing the tummy recommended. (recess)
part B: Turns
Providing a few new turns lovingly crafted by Mardi. A little something to slip into the slow pieces.
1 workshop - € 45,-
2 workshops - € 85,-
3 workshops - € 125,-
